#PP Fabrics

PP stands for polypropylene, which is light-weight and hydrophobic material.
  • Transfer Moisture & Quick Drying
Among all the fiber types, PP holds the least moisture. Because of this nature, it keeps the skin dry and clean by easily transporting moisture from the body to the outer environment. Little condensation occurs on the skin.
  • Light-weights & Thermal Insulation
PP is the lightest -weighted fiber, even lighter than water. It is 30% lighter than polyester and 20% lighter than nylon. Regardless of the activity, lighter weights means less consumption in energy and better performance. Due to the light-weight nature, if cross-weaved with wool or cotton, it can reduce fabric weight and improve its breathability and hand-feel. The fabrics woven by PP offers a soft and smooth handfeel.
Morever, PP has the lowest thermal conductivity of any fiber, which means better thermal insulation. Light-weight and thermal insulation makes PP a perfect material for outdoor activities.
  • Good Color Fastness
PP is pre-colored during the solution-dyed (dope-dyed) process.  The color is gained when making fibers. With the unique pre-colored process, PP fabrics have better color fastness than other top-dyed or piece-dyed fabrics.
  • No Odor Retention
Mildew, mold and bacteria can hardly grow on PP fabrics and cause any damage because of the hydrophobic nature of PP.  Thus, garments made in PP fabrics will not gain any odor if washed regularly.
  • Abrasion Resistant & Chemically Resistant
PP is durable and good in tearing strength, both in dry or wet conditions. Together with the light-weight nature, it is a perfect choice for water activities. Also, PP fabrics can hardly do chemical reactions with most material. Sweats or stains will not degrade the performance.
